Biography

2011-12: Played in all 27 games in his first season in uniform for the Miners, averaging 4.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game…shot 43.6 percent from the field, 68.1 percent at the free throw line and made four-of-16 from three-point land….also dished out 10 assists, made 13 steals and blocked four shots…scored a season-high 13 points in the Miners’ late-season win at Rockhurst that helped propel the Miners into the GLVC Tournament…also scored 12 in the victory at Maryville in his other double figure outing of the year…went nine-of-12 from the field in those two victories…had a season-high six rebounds on three occasions.

2010-11: Received a medical hardship for the season after suffering an injury at the end of the first half of the Miners’ exhibition game at Tulsa.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Earned first-team Class 3 all-state honors following the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons…was a third-team all-metro St. Louis pick after the 2009-10 season…finished his career as the all-time leading scorer at Whitfield with 1,818 points…averaged 14.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists during his senior year for a team that finished third in the Missouri Class 3 state tournament…had 21 points in the semifinal contest against Cardinal Ritter…scored 17.9 points with 7.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists as a junior as Whitfield placed second in the state…had averages of 18.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and two assists a game as a sophomore…shot 60.2 percent from the floor as a senior and had shooting percentages of over 50 percent in his last three seasons…also finished the 2009-10 season with 62 assists, 25 blocked shots and 33 steals…was nominated for McDonald’s All-America basketball honors.

PERSONAL: Son of Steven and Constance Johnson and Lawrence Johnson...majoring in engineering.
