Randy Farris in his second season assisting the Missouri S&T men's basketball program after a distinguished career in the coaching ranksĀ at the collegiate and high school levels in the Kansas City area.

Farris served as the head coach at Park University, while also serving as an assistant at Longview Community College and and on the staff at Central Missouri.Ā  Farris has been in the coaching ranks for 47 years, posting a record of 399-361 mainly at Grandview High School where he won five conference championships, four district titles and took teams to the Missouri state quarterfinals on four occasions, including the 2008-09 season when it reached the state championship game.

He led seven teams to district championships, as he also guided St. Piux X to three championships and two Final Four appearances.

"I have known Coach Farris virtually my whole life," said Missouri S&T head coach Bill Walker.Ā "He has vast experience at many levels and is very well respected in the Kansas City area and beyond.Ā  Along with DarreonĀ (Reddick) and Darren (Bizarri),Ā we have a staff that can help players thrive and continue the upward trajectory of our program."

Farris was a four-time district Coach of the Year and was a recipient of the Richard Fairchild, Paul Lambert and Eddie Ryan Coaches of the Year awards following the 2008-09 season.Ā  He is a member of the Hall of Fame at Grandview High School as well as at his alma mater, Fort Osage High School.
