Derreon Reddick, a former player at Tennessee State University and most recently an assistant coach at Northern Oklahoma College-Enid, is in his second season as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball program at Missouri S&T.
Prior to coming to S&T, Reddick spent the two previous seasons at Northern Oklahoma-Enid, where he was involved in a variety of aspects of the day-to-day operations within the program. He has handled duties that have included academic oversight, recruiting, scouting, travel, weightlifting and player development. One of his players at Northern Oklahoma-Enid, Ikenna Okeke, is a current member of the Miner squad.
A native of Belleville, Ill., Reddick played four seasons at Tennessee State where he averaged 7.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game during his career. He started in 103 of the 121 games he played from 2014-18, as he also accumulated 169 assists, 75 steals and eight blocked shots while connecting 119 times from three-point range, where he shot 33.1 percent for his career.
Reddick, who was named as the Ohio Valley Conference’s Freshman of the Week during the 2014-15 season after scoring a career-high 25 points against Murray State, averaged nine points per game as a junior. He served as a team captain for the Tigers during his senior year, when he had a 20-point outing against third-ranked Kansas.
He would go on to play professional basketball for one year with B.C. Olimpi in Georgia and with the Pioneros in Mexico before joining the Northern Oklahoma-Enid staff.
