Biography
Has seen playing time at quarterback and on special teams over the last three seasons…also served as a long snapper…completed two of six passes during the 2013 campaign for 17 yards…also had 24 yards on the ground...saw playing time in six games as a redshirt freshman…completed six-of-11 passes for 108 yards and also ran for 78 yards on six carries…threw for a season-high 69 yards in the season opener against Oklahoma Panhandle State...redshirted in 2011...completed nearly 50 percent of his passes as a high school senior in 2010 for 1,413 yards and 12 touchdowns after throwing for over 1,200 yards as a junior…was an all-conference selection in each of his last two seasons at St. Dominic, earning second-team honors at quarterback as a junior and first-team as a senior; he was also an all-league performer as a punter.
Personal: Attended St. Dominic High School, where his coach was Jim Cook…son of Kelly and Chris Merz…majoring in mechanical engineering.
