High School: Played along the offensive line at the prep level, where he earned second-team all-conference honors...was also an academic all-state selection and named as an Illinois State Scholar as he graduated in the top 10 percent of his graduating class.

Personal: Attended Edwardsville High School…son of Ruben and Maria Garcia…majoring in mechanical engineering at Missouri S&T.
