Josh Firm joins the Missouri S&T coaching staff this season as the running backs coach after completing his career as a player last fall.
Firm earned honorable mention All-GLVC honors following the 2012 season in which he completed 229-of-344 passes (66.6 percent) for 2,468 yards and 27 touchdowns. The Miners set a new single-season scoring record a year ago by scoring 458 points and averaged 41.6 points per game, the seventh-best mark in NCAA Division II.
As a junior, Firm started in 10 games and completed 150-of-288 passes for 1,826 yards and 14 touchdowns. He finished his Miner career with the third-highest number of completions with 379 and passing yards with 4,294. His total offensive yards total of 4,225 ranks in a tie for third on the all-time S&T list.
Firm is from Lancaster, Calif., and played two seasons at Antelope Valley College in California before
transferring to Missouri S&T.
