Gerold Rodriguez

Gerold Rodriguez is in his second season on the Miner staff as a graduate assistant coach in charge of the wide receivers.

During the 2011 season, the Miners had four wide receivers that caught at least 20 passes and had one of the top wideouts in the Great Lakes Football Conference in Smook Thomas, who caught 52 passes and earned first-team all-conference honors.

Rodriguez played four seasons at that position at the collegiate level, spending two years at the University of Arizona and his last two at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. He was an outstanding kick returner at UNLV, averaging 23.8 yards per return in the 2007 season.

Rodriguez is a native of Los Angeles, Calif., and is the cousin of J.P. Losman, who played with the Buffalo Bills in the National Football League.
