Damien Ross is in his third season on the MissourI S&T staff and will serve as the team’s wide receivers coach.

During his first year in the position, the Miners had two receivers, as well as an offensive utility player, earn all-conference honors.  The Miner offense averaged 286.5 yards per game through the air and averaged nearly 21 receptions per game while scoring 24 touchdowns.
Ross joins the S&T coaching staff after spending the 2018 season as the head coach at Bangor High School in Michigan, but also has three years of collegiate coaching experience as he spent two years as a graduate assistant and Midland University in Nebraska and a season as the wide receivers coach at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill., where the Highlanders recorded a final record of 8-2 and averaged 214.7 yards per game through the air.
In addition to his coaching experience at the collegiate and high school levels, Ross spent the summer of 2016 as a summer educational coach with the National Football League’s Detroit Lions, where he taught fundamentals to various age groups and instructed youth players on heads up tackling.  He also spent the summer of 2013 serving as a football operations intern at the University of Michigan, assisting with team travel arrangements, assisting graduate assistants with pre-season camp logistics and helping to install a compliance manual for the program’s incoming freshmen.
Ross played collegiately at Siena Heights University as a wide receiver, where he made nine receptions for 186 yards – averaging 20.7 yards per reception – as a senior in the program’s third full-time season of play.  He had a touchdown reception during his freshman season.
He received his bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2014 from Siena Heights, then earned his master’s degree at Midland University in 2015 in business administration.  Ross is originally from South Haven, Mich.
