Expected to contend for the starting quarterback spot…started the Miners’ first four games last season before suffering a season-ending injury near the end of the first half at Butler…completed 82 of 131 passes (62.6 percent) for 884 yards and seven touchdowns in the four games he appeared in…threw for 345 yards in his first appearance as a Miner against Truman State…also threw for 304 yards and two scores against Wisconsin-Stout…averaged 42.8 yards on five punts with a long punt of 55 yards…earned all-district and all-conference honors as the quarterback of the 2006 national championship team at Blinn Junior College in Texas…completed 128 of 179 passes for 1,471 yards and 16 touchdowns last fall with only four interceptions…was an all-district performer as a quarterback and defensive end at the high school level.

Personal: Attended Rusk High School, where his coach was Wayne Mahaffey…born Aug. 28, 1986…son of Thomas and Kathy Guidry…competed in track for Missouri S&T and took fourth place in the discus throw at the 2008 Great Lakes Valley Conference
