HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year starter at the varsity level...earned all-conference honors at Pacific High School after hitting .310 with two home runs and 21 runs batted in during his senior year...also had a 4-2 record as a pitcher with a 2.31 earned run average...was a unanimous all-conference selection in the Four Rivers Conference as a centerfielder after hitting .393 with seven extra base hits and 17 runs batted in during his junior season...also made eight appearances as a pitcher with four starts in 2013, going 3-2 with a 5.60 earned run average in 30 innings and striking out one batter per inning pitched...as a sophomore, batted .438 with 18 runs batted in and recorded nine extra base hits.

PERSONAL: Son of Dwight and Mary VandaVeer...majoring in electrical engineering at Missouri S&T.
