2013: Became a full-time pitcher and finished with a 3-1 record and 3.07 earned run average in 44 innings of work…started in six games and was 3-1 in those starts with a 3.18 ERA…struck out 27 hitters with a season-high of five against William Jewell…opposing hitters batted just .255 against him…pitched four innings of relief and did not allow an earned run in the 13-inning contest against Maryville in the GLVC Tournament.

2012: Split time between pitching and the infield…as a pitcher, was 1-0 in nine appearances out of the bullpen and allowed runs in only three of those outings…fanned six hitters in 8 1/3 innings of work…earned his win in relief in S&T’s extra inning win over Harris-Stowe…also batted .256 with a home run (hit at Lewis) and seven runs batted in…had a three-hit performance in the Miners’ win at Lincoln.

2011: Appeared in 26 games and made 17 starts during his freshman season with the Miners…saw playing time at both second and third base as he batted .242 with nine runs batted in…had four two-hit games and drove in three runs in a key late season win over Quincy…had hits in six of his last 17 at-bats over the final seven games he appeared in during the year…batted .500 (7-of-14) when leading off innings.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned honorable mention all-state honors at the high school level as well as all-region, all-area and all-conference laurels…during the 2010 season, batted .420 with three home runs and 17 runs batted in, with eight of his 34 hits (in 81 at-bats) going for extra bases…also scored 33 times over the course of the year…as a pitcher in 2010, he recorded a 2.75 earned run average in 56 innings of work with 53 strikeouts at Silver Creek High School in Colorado.

PERSONAL: Son of Richard and Karel Van Dyke…majoring in electrical and computer engineering.
