HIGH SCHOOL:  Played at DeSmet Jesuit High School, where he went 2-2 with a 3.47 earned run average in 11 games in his senior year…struck out 23 hitters in 42.1 innings…got a win in his only pitching decision in his junior year.

PERSONAL:  Son of Chris and Sara Martens… majoring in geological engineering at Missouri S&T.
