Biography

2011-12: Did not compete due to an injury.

2010-11: Earned All-America awards in seven events at the NCAA Division II Championships...finished seventh on an individual basis in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly while taking 13th in the 200-butterfly...was on four Miner relay teams that earned All-America status...was second in the 200-fly and fourth in the 200-individual medley and 100-butterfly at the NSISC meet won by the Miners...had top times of 48.56 in the 100-yard butterfly, 1:50.20 in the 200-butterfly and 1:49.64 in the 200-IM...also had a mark of 50.28 in the 100-backstroke.

2009-10: Reached All-America status in six events for the second year in succession...had a sixth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:49.65, while earning honorable mention in the 100-butterfly with a top mark of 49.63...was part of four relay teams to earn the honors...earned the relay honors in both medley relays as well as the 400- and 800-freestyle relays...was the NSISC champion in the 200-yard butterfly with a winning time of 1:50.45...was also part of S&T's 800-freestyle and 200- and 400-yard medley relays that finished second at the NSISC meet as well as the 400-freestyle relay that placed fourth...also earned runner-up honors on an individual basis in the 200-individual medley, where his best time of the season was 1:50.50 and 100-butterfly...had the Miners' best time in both butterfly events and the 200-IM for the season.

2008-09: Earned All-America honors in six events – the most by any S&T competitor at the 2009 national meet -- in his first season with the Miners…posted his highest finish at the NCAA Division II Championships in the 200-yard butterfly as he took third in a seasonal-best time of1:48.40…also had a sixth-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley and an eighth in the 100-yard butterfly…also earned All-America awards on the 200- and 400-freestyle and 400-medley relay teams…had seasonal-best times of 48.92 in the 100-butterfly and 1:49.04 in the 200-IM…was part of the Miners’ NSISC championship team in the 400-medley relay…was the NSISC champion in the 200-fly and also finished as the runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley and
on S&T’s 200-medley and freestyle relay teams that took second at the meet… set three school records during his freshman season, doing so in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events and the 200-IM…was part of the Miners’ 400-medley relay team that broke the S&T pool record in the event in a dual meet win over defending national champion Drury.

PERSONAL: Son of Dr. Charles and Julia Schranck…became the second competitor in the history of his school to earn a medal in the sport with his ninth place finish in the 100-yard backstroke at the 2007 Illinois State Championships… had a time of 23.45 in the finals of that race…took fifth in the 200-individual medley at last year’s state meet and sixth in the 100-yard butterfly… also competed in the 100-freestyle at the meet and posted a time of 47.76…qualified for the state meet in his sophomore season…majoring in architectural and civil engineering.
