Biography
2008-09: Landed All-America honors in all three freestyle relays, anchoring the 200-free relay to a sixth place showing in a record time of 1:21.50…was also part of the 400-medley relay team that took sixth, while the 400- and 800-free relay teams each placed seventh…was an honorable mention All-America performer in the 200-freestyle, where he was 13th in 1:39.65…best time in the 50-freestyle was 20.68 and 44.91 in the 100-freestyle, the event in which he won the NSISC title…anchored three Miner relay teams – the 400- and 800-freestyle and 400-medley relays – to NSISC titles and also competed on S&T’s 200-medley relay and 200-freestyle relay teams that took second at the meet…was the runner-up in the 200-freestyle and third place finisher in the 500-freestyle on an individual basis at the NSISC Championships… was part of the Miners’ 400-medley relay team that broke the S&T pool record in the event in a dual meet win over defending national champion Drury.
2007-08: Earned All-America honors in all five relays and in the 100-yard freestyle…finished fifth in the 100-free with a time of 44.90 seconds, the best by a Miner in that event on the year…anchored both medley relay teams that set new school records, including the 400-medley team that finished third, as well as the 400-freestyle relay squad...led off the 800-freestyle relay quartet that placed fourth; had an opening split of 1:39.88 which was a personal best and helped S&T break the school record in the event…added a 12th place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:39.93 in the preliminary round…was second in the 200-freestyle, third in the 100-free and sixth in the 50-freestyle at the NSISC Championships.
2006-07: Earned All-America honors in his first season with the Miners…picked up his awards in the 200-freestyle relay that finished sixth and the 400-free relay that came in seventh…anchored the 200-freestyle relay that posted the team’s best time of the season of 1:22.50 which was good enough to win the event at the Arkansas-Little Rock Christmas Invitational…was on the 200-free relay team that won the title at the NSISC meet and the 400-freestyle group that placed second…posted the team’s third-best time in the 50-freestyle (21.49) and 100-freestyle (46.82) during the season.
