Biography
2009-10: Landed All-America honors in the 200-yard backstroke at the NCAA Division II Championships with his best time of the season at 1:50.46...also competed in the 100-backstroke and had a time of 51.29 seconds at the national meet, as well as the 400-yard individual medley...was on the Miners' 400-yard medley relay team that placed second at the NSISC Championships...took fourth individually in the 400-IM at the NSISC meet and had a top time of 4:03.67 in that event during the season, as well as in the 200-backstroke in 1:52.86...was also sixth in the 100-backstroke at that meet.
2008-09: Earned All-America honors as part of the Miners’ 400-yard medley relay team that finished sixth at the national meet…gained honorable mention All-America laurels by winning the consolation final in the 200-yard backstroke and also earned the award in the 400-yard individual medley…took 10th in the event in 3:58.65, his best time of the year in the event…best time in the 200-back was 1:49.66…also competed in the 200-IM and 100-backstroke at the NCAA-II Championships…led off S&T’s championship team in the 400-medley relay at the NSISC meet…was the NSISC runner-up in the 200-backstroke and 400-IM and also took fourth in the 100-backstroke…was part of the Miners’ 400-medley relay team that broke the S&T pool record in the event in a dual meet win over defending national champion Drury.
2007-08: Earned All-America honors in the 200-yard backstroke as one of three Miners to finish in the top eight…took sixth place in the event with a time of 1:49.61…made the consolation finals in the 200- and 400-yard individual medley, finishing 10th in the latter event…earned a spot in the 100-yard backstroke competition at nationals…took third in the 200-backstroke and fifth in the 200- and 400-yard IM at the NSISC meet.
PERSONAL: Son of Peter and Kathryn Enge…was a four-year state qualifier in Illinois and Oklahoma...finished as the state runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle and as part of the 200-yard medley relay team in the 2006 state meet…was a USA Swimming All-America award recipient and has also earned a number of academic awards, including being a National Merit semifinalist…member of the NISCA/Speedo Academic All-America team in 2007…majoring in mechanical engineering.
