Biography
Returning starter at linebacker who is the Miners’ top returning tackler for the 2009 campaign…recorded 66 stops in 2008, including two for a loss…also tied for the team lead with three interceptions, which came in wins over Saint Joseph’s, Lincoln and Southwest Baptist…interception against SBU came on the Bearcats’ opening possession of the second half and help spark the S&T offense to a 42-point outburst after the intermission…also blocked a punt at Central State that he returned for a touchdown…posted 49 tackles during the 2007 campaign, including 28 solo stops…also forced a fumble and blocked a punt during the year; the blocked punt was returned by S&T for a touchdown…had four tackles during the 2006 season, including one for a loss…was redshirted in the 2005 campaign…earned first-team all-conference laurels at linebacker and was named as the "Player of the Week" in the Springfield area during the 2004 season...also earned academic all-state honors in his senior year.
Personal: Attended Sacred Heart Griffin High School, where his coach was Ken Lenard...son of Mark and Ellen Edwards...majoring in civil engineering.
