2017-18: Earned All-America honors as part of the Miners' 400- and 800-yard freestyle relay teams, both of which finished among the top eight at the NCAA Division II Championships...finished seventh in the 200-yard freestyle at the GLVC Championships while scoring in the 500- and 1,000-freestyle...had top times of 21.30 in the 50-freestyle, 45.91 in the 100-free, 1:39.65 in the 200-freestyle and 9:33.91 in the 1,000-freestyle, as well a mark of 48.85 in the 100-butterfly...was part of two relay teams that recorded the team's best time of the season.

2016-17: Earned All-America honors as part of S&T’s 400- and 800-yard freestyle relay teams, as well as honorable mention All-America in the 200-freestyle relay…won a GLVC championship in the 800-freestyle relay…placed seventh in the 1,000-yard freestyle and eighth in the 1,650-freestyle at the GLVC Championships…was on the winning team in the B-final of the 400-freestyle relay and runner-up squad in the consolation finals of the 200-freestyle relay at the conference meet…also scored in the 200- and 500-freestyle…posted top times of 21.39 in the 50-freestyle, 46.59 in the 100-freestyle, 1:38.93 in the 500-free, 4:34.35 in the 500-free, 9:28.32 in the 1,000 and 15:59.48 in the 1,650 during the season.

2015-16: Earned All-America status in the 800-yard freestyle relay where the Miners finished fifth…competed in the 200-, 500-, 1,000- and 1,650-freestyle at the 2016 NCAA-II Championships… was part of S&T’s championship team in the 800-yard freestyle relay at the GLVC Championships…finished fourth in the 1,000- and 1,650-freestyle and fifth in the 200-freestyle and 200-butterfly at the GLVC Championships…scored as part of the 200-freestyle relay…has the Miners’ best time in the 1,650-freestyle of 15:49.60.

PERSONAL:  Son of Colin and Christine McPherson…competed at Tartan High School and for the South East Metro Sharks in the Twin Cities region of Minnesota, competing in the sprint freestyle where he was a two-time state finalist and butterfly events…was the eighth-ranked swimmer in the state according to CollegeSwimming.com and recorded times of 21.35 in the 50-yard freestyle at Minnesota Senior State Championships in 2015, 46.43 in the 100-freestyle and 1:40.90 in the 200-freestyle, which he posted at the 2015 state championship meet to finish third…in the butterfly, McPherson has recorded top times of 50.17 seconds in the 100-yard event and 1:51.92 in the 200…also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-America honors on two occasions…majoring in electrical engineering.
