Biography

2016: Appeared in 16 games with two hits in 22 at-bats…made six starts, mainly at third base…drove in three runs against Southwest Baptist on Feb. 21.

2015: Played in six games during the season and had one hit in four at-bats...recorded his first career hit in the final regular season contest at Rockhurst...saw playing time at third base during the year.

2014: Was redshirted for the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Liberty High School, where he finished the 2013 season with a .329 batting average, .521 slugging percentage and on-base mark of .427…had two home runs and 13 runs batted in…was the valedictorian of his graduating class.

PERSONAL: Son of Jeff and Sue Volkmann…younger brother, Jason, is a member of the 2017 Miners...majoring in electrical and computer engineering.
