2018: GLVC West Division second-team selection…finished the year as the Miners’ second-leading hitter with a .348 average, three home runs and 29 runs batted in…recorded a team-high 63 hits and 20 multiple-hit games, including four-hit outings against Rockhurst and William Jewell…had walk-off RBI singles in wins over Maryville and William Jewell…knocked in a season-high four runs in a victory over McKendree...had a .442 slugging percentage mark and an on-base percentage of .429.

2017: Was redshirted for the season.

AT McHENRY COUNTY: Hit .368 with 10 extra base hits and 19 runs batted in during the 2016 campaign…also stole six bases and scored 33 times in 30 games…played in 33 games with a home run and 13 runs batted in during his freshman season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned all-state honors at Neenah High School, where he batted .487 as a senior with 11 runs batted in and hit .381 during the 2012 campaign.

PERSONAL: Son of Andy and Heidi Gruse…majoring in mechanical engineering at Missouri S&T.
