Biography
2015-16: Placed second in the weight throw with a mark of 56-2 at the GLVC Indoor Championships…best weight throw mark of the season was 58-1¾…added a sixth place showing indoors in the shot put with a throw of 47-11…recorded finishes at the GLVC Outdoor Championships of third in the shot put and discus…had his top performance of 189-2 in the hammer throw, 52-10 in the shot, 159-0 in the discus (at GLVC meet) during the outdoor season…best indoor shot mark was 51-11¾, which made an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark.
2014-15: Finished third in the discus, fifth in the hammer throw and sixth in the shot put at the GLVC Outdoor Championships...best performances in the outdoor season were of 49-0¼ in the shot put, 152-1 in the discus (both team bests for the year) and 176-4 in the hammer throw…was seventh in the shot put and eighth in the weight throw at the GLVC Indoor Championships…best showings were 49-5 in the shot put and 55-4¾ in the weight throw.
PERSONAL: Son of Tim and Sandra Karsten…attended Blair Oaks High School….majoring in mining engineering at Missouri S&T.
