2016: Second-team All-GLVC selection…made 40 starts in the 41 games he has appeared in…batted .290 on the year with 15 runs batted in and 30 runs scored….reached base in 19 consecutive contests at one point in the season…had three-hit games against Quincy on April 2, Rockhurst on April 9 and Truman State on April 17…batted .333 in GLVC contests during the season…threw out 17 runners trying to steal in 37 attempts.

AT CENTURY COLLEGE/NORTH DAKOTA: Spent his freshman year at the University of North Dakota...played at Century in 2015, where he batted .388 in 40 games with 34 runs batted in and had a .534 on-base percentage...was a member of the athletic honor roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was an all-conference performer at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School and also played for the Minnesota Blizzard, where he played on two teams that won national tournaments.

PERSONAL: Son of Tom and Melinda Nelson...majoring in chemical engineering at Missouri S&T.
