Biography

2010: Pitched in eight games during the season and did not get a decision…threw 9 1/3 innings and struck out six…threw a season-high three innings at Drury…season high for strikeouts was two at Bellarmine.

2009: Appeared in two games early in the season…struck out seven hitters in the 6 1/3 innings he threw during the year, with a season high of four strikeouts against Augustana.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Posted a 3-0 record and 7.39 earned run average during the 2008 season at Southwestern Illinois College…threw 28 innings in the 12 games he pitched and struck out 22 hitters…was 3-4 as a freshman at SWIC with a 4.62 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 37 innings of work…pitched in 24 games during his two seasons at the school.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was an honorable mention all-metro selection at Westminster Christian Academy, where he was 7-2 as a senior with a 2.35 earned run average…threw four complete games…was also an all-state selection…struck out a team-high 37 hitters in 47 2/3 innings in 2006, when he helped lead Westminster to a fourth place finish in the state tournament…served as the team captain in his senior year…recorded a 5-1 record and a 1.84 ERA as a junior with 36 strikeouts in 45 2/3 innings.

PERSONAL: Son of Pat Walker and Annette Read…majoring in business and management systems.
