Biography
2011: Appeared in four games on the mound, finishing with an 0-1 record and 4.70 earned run average…finished the year with six strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings of work…had a solid three-inning outing for S&T in the NCAA Midwest Regional game with Wayne State, giving up just one hit and striking out one in relief…had a two-inning scoreless outing in relief with two strikeouts in the game against Missouri-St. Louis that allowed the Miners to clinch the GLVC West Division championship.
2010: Was 1-3 with a 6.64 earned run average in seven appearances before his season was cut short due to an injury…earned his victory in a six-inning performance against Fort Hays State when he struck out four and allowed just one run…had a season-best five strikeouts against Arkansas-Monticello...threw 20 1/3 innings in his seven appearances.
2009: Appeared in 17 games during his freshman season and posted a 5.36 earned run average despite finishing with a record of 0-5…made six starts and pitched 40 1/3 innings, striking out 21 batters in that span…had solid starts against Arkansas Tech (three hits allowed in five innings) and Drury (six hits and three strikeouts in five innings).
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned honorable mention all-state honors as well as first-team all-region, all-area and all-conference laurels at West Bloomfield High School…batted .426 and went 10-2 on the mound during his junior season.
PERSONAL: Son of Bob and Jeanne Pyles…majoring in electrical engineering.
