Biography

2008: Earned all-conference honors following the season after finishing with a .331 average and team highs in home runs and runs batted in…hit four home runs and drove in an S&T single season record 46 runs…earned GLVC “Player of the Week” honors on April 21 after a week where he hit (.xxx) over a six-game stretch…had a team-high 15 multiple-hit games, including a four-hit game against Drury and a three-hit outing against SIU Edwardsville…drove in runs in a school record 10 consecutive games…had 11 games where he drove in two or more runs…had two home runs and five RBI in a win over Drury, the most by a Miner during the year and four against Northern Kentucky…also homered against Northern Kentucky and in one of the other games of the Drury series…drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh to spark a doubleheader sweep over Missouri-St. Louis…batted .356 with runners in scoring position and .372 with runners on base.

2007:
Finished the season with a .286 average, a home run and 20 runs batted in…home run was a game-winner in a victory at Lewis that helped the Miners sweep a three-game series…had 10 of his 38 hits for extra bases including seven doubles and two triples…had 11 multiple-hit games, including a four-hit outing against Saint Joseph’s…hit .400 over the Miners’ final 10 games of the season…led the Miners with seven multiple-RBI games…played the bulk of his 42 games at first base…was named as the most valuable player in the Central Illinois Collegiate League during the summer when he won the league’s triple crown (.337, nine homers, 40 RBI) in the wood bat league.

2006:
Named as the GLVC’s “Freshman of the Year”…led the Miners with a .320 batting average, three home runs and 15 runs batted in...had a team-best slugging percentage of .473 and on-base percentage of .393 as he drew a team-high 15 walks...led the Miners with 11 multiple-hit games, with three-hit outings against Southwest Baptist, Southern Indiana, Missouri-St. Louis and Wisconsin-Parkside...homered twice in the Miners' four-game series at Quincy...finished the season with a six-game hitting streak...had at least one hit in 32 of the 45 games that he appeared in.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Played on a state championship team in Texas at Kingwood High School in 2005 after reaching the state semifinals in the previous year.

PERSONAL:
Born May 24, 1987 in Dallas, Texas...son of Bernard and Andrea McCormick...attended Kingwood High School, where he played the outfield and first base...majoring in architectural engineering.
