Biography

2008: Was a valuable member of the Miner bullpen in his first season at S&T…appeared in 16 games (14 in relief) and posted a 6.89 earned run average…struck out 17 in 31 1/3 innings of work…posted a 2-2 record, getting one win in relief against Truman State and the other in the Miners’ final victory of the season at SIU Edwardsville…allowed just three runs in seven innings in the two starts he made during the season.

AT MERAMEC: Posted a 3-2 record with a 5.03 earned run average last season…struck out 39 hitters in 28 2/3 innings pitched during the 2007 season with just 12 walks…also recorded two saves during the year…finished 4-3 with a 5.13 ERA in his first season at Meramec.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was named to the all-conference first team at Pacific High School…a two-year letterwinner who was named as his team’s most improved player…went 4-2 with a 3.71 earned run average as a senior…fanned over eight batters for every seven innings he pitched…also batted .298 during his senior year.

PERSONAL: Born Feb. 3, 1986 in St. Louis, Mo….son of Roger and Cindy Buck…majoring in business.
