Biography

2009: Captured All-America awards at both of the NCAA track meets during the season, topped by a fourth place finish during the outdoor season...cleared 17-0 3/4 -- the second-best mark in school history -- to earn his fourth place finish outdoors...took eighth place at the NCAA indoor meet with a top mark of 16-2 3/4...won the GLVC title in the decathlon with a score of 6,202 points; he won three of the five events on the final day to take the title...also took second in the inaugural indoor heptathlon with 4,580 points...finished second in the outdoor pole vault with a mark of 16-3 1/4 and was tied for third indoors at 15-0 1/4...was named to the All-GLVC team in both seasons.

2008: Earned All-America honors in the outdoor pole vault with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Championships…cleared 16-feet at the national meet to tie for the sixth place spot…went over the bar at 16-3 1/2 at the GLVC Outdoor Championships to finish as the league’s runner-up and earn the qualifying mark…also took third in the pole vault at the league’s indoor meet at 15-7, which was his seasonal best during that portion of the year…earned All-GLVC honors for both the indoor and outdoor season.

2007: Earned a berth to the NCAA Division II Championships in the pole vault…placed second in the pole vault at the GLVC Outdoor Championships, where he matched his best mark of the season of 16-1 1/4….also hit the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in the event during the Dewey Allgood Invitational…was fifth in the indoor pole vault at the conference meet with a mark of 15-1 3/4.

HIGH SCHOOL: Finished fifth in the Illinois state meet as a junior...earned second-team all-area in his last two seasons at the high school level and honorable mention all-metro St. Louis as a senior...recorded a top jump of 15-6 during the 2006 season, which was the second-best mark by a St. Louis-athlete during the year.

PERSONAL: Son of Craig and Michele Hollenbeck...majoring in mining engineering.
