Biography
2008: Did not compete during the season.
2007: Won two GLVC championships in his freshman year, winning the outdoor triple jump with a mark of 45-11 1/4, his best mark of the outdoor season in that event, and the indoor high jump with a clearance of 6-7…made the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in the high jump with a jump of 6-8 3/4 at Central Missouri…took second behind teammate Tyrone Smith in the indoor triple jump where he posted a mark of 45-6 1/2…had the Miners’ best mark in that event in 2007 with a leap of 46-4 1/4 at Missouri Southern…was second in the GLVC outdoor high jump with a clearance of 6-6 and in the long jump when he posted a seasonal-best distance of 22-10 1/2…had a top clearance of 6-8 in the high jump at Emporia State…placed sixth in the indoor long jump at the GLVC Indoor Championships with a mark of 21-11 1/2…jumped 22 8 1/2 at Central Missouri.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned all-state, all-area and all-conference honors at O’Fallon Township High School...finished sixth in the state of Illinois in the long jump last season and also placed eighth in the high jump...had top marks of 45-feet in the triple jump, 22-7 3/4 in the long jump and 6-6 in the high jump...competed in all three of those events at the state meet.
PERSONAL: Born June 6, 1988 in Athens, Greece...son of Carl and Diane Dean...attended O’Fallon Township High School…majoring in biological sciences.
