Biography
2007-08: Earned All-America honors in all three freestyle relays at the NCAA Championships…served as the leadoff swimmer in the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays and also earned an award in the 800-free relay at the national meet when the Miners set a new school record…finished 13th in the 100-yard freestyle with a mark of 45.71 in the finals after posting a 45.47 in the preliminaries…also qualified for nationals in the 50-yard freestyle, where he had the team’s fastest time of the season of 20.94 seconds and the 200-free where he had a time of 1:41.29 in the qualifying heats…was the NSISC champion in the 200-yard freestyle, where he posted a time of 1:43.13 in the finals…finished seventh in the 100-freestyle and eighth in the 50-free at the NSISC meet.
PERSONAL: Born Nov. 7, 1988 in Boulder, Colo....son of Mac and Sharon Gordon...won six All-America awards from USA swimming and was been part of two relay teams that established national high school records…was a sprint freestyle competitor who was been a high finisher in those events on the state level…won state titles in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle at last year’s Colorado State Championships, posting times of 21.21 in the 50 and 46.32 in the 100…earned high school All-America honors from the NISCA in both events in 2006-07…finished third in the 100-yard freestyle in 47.19 seconds and sixth in the 50-yard freestyle in 21.99 seconds at the 2006 Colorado state meet…has also competed at a number of national meets as a member of the North Jeffco Swim Club…majoring in information systems technology at Missouri S&T.
