Biography
Finished the 2012 season with 31 tackles, 22 of which were solo stops…had two interceptions during the season, one against Kentucky Wesleyan and the other in the win at Saint Joseph’s, while breaking up four passes…recorded a season-best five tackles in the win over Saint Joseph’s...named to the All-GLFC second team in 2011…finished with 36 tackles, 26 of which were solo stops, and a team high four interceptions…had a 48-yard interception return for a touchdown against Saint Joseph’s, one of two in that game for the Miners and one of three on the season for S&T…made the tackle on a two-point conversion attempt by William Jewell with 1:37 remaining to keep S&T in front in that eventual victory…also had interceptions against Oklahoma Panhandle State, Drake and Kentucky Wesleyan and added five pass breakups...had 16 tackles in the 2010 season which included 12 solo stops and two pass breakups...was redshirted in 2009...was a versatile player at the high school level who earned his team’s most valuable player award in 2008…was an all-conference and all-area performer, playing at wide receiver, free safety and kick returner.
Personal: Attended Seton Academy, where his coach was Brandon Morgan…son of Bennie and Sharron Smith…also competes in track at S&T, where he earned All-America honors as part of the Miners’ 4x100-meter relay team in the 2011 season...relay team won the 2010 GLVC outdoor championship...majoring in mechanical engineering.
