Biography

2012: Hit .311 on the season despite missing nearly six weeks due to an injury…drove in nine runs on the year…had at least one hit in 10 of the 18 games he appeared in, with three-hit outings against Harris-Stowe and Missouri-St. Louis…had five hits in three games during the GLVC Tournament…had seven multiple-hit games.

2011: Did not play during the season due to an injury.

2010: Earned first-team all-region honors by the ABCA and Daktronics, while also being selected to the All-GLVC first team…led the Miners with a .391 batting average, six home runs and 33 runs batted in…was the only Miner to collect five hits in a game during the season, doing so in a win over Quincy…had a 10-game hitting streak during the year and finished the season with hits in the Miners’ last five contests…tied for the team high with 22 multiple-hit games, including four games with three hits and three with four…broke the school record with 75 hits on the year…had nine games where he drove in at least two runs…among his six home runs on the season was an inside-the-park home run at Missouri-St. Louis on the season’s final weekend…hit .650 with runners on third base and less than two outs…finished with a slugging percentage of .568, an on-base percentage of .467 (tops on the team) and scored 38 runs.

2009: Hit .318 in his first season in a Miner uniform with 18 runs batted in…had eight multiple-hit games including three-hit outings against Southern Indiana and Rockhurst…drove in three runs in a opening weekend win over Henderson State…made 21 starts as a designated hitter and also saw playing time at first base; did not commit an error in 87 chances at that position…had 10 extra base hits, including eight doubles and two triples.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned first-team all-state honors in helping lead Rolla High School to a 21-4 record in 2008, the most wins in school history…also earned three first-team all-conference awards during his career…finished the 2008 season with eight home runs and 38 runs batted in and a .904 slugging percentage…had 38 hits, nearly half for extra bases and scored 24 times…also pitched and posted a 4-1 record on the mound.

PERSONAL: Son of Jim and Yoshiko Morrison…majoring in civil engineering…also a member of the Miner football team as a kicker.
