Biography
2012: Finished with a 2-3 record and 2.91 earned run average, the best mark among the Miner starters…picked up wins against Illinois Springfield and Drury…threw one complete game that came at William Jewell…posted a season-high seven strikeouts against Harris-Stowe as he finished the year with 23 in 52 2/3 innings...allowed two earned runs or fewer in six of his eight starts.
2011: Finished with a 4-3 record and a 2.90 earned run average…earned GLVC “Pitcher of the Week” honors after firing a complete game, two-hit shutout on the final day of the regular season in a 4-0 win over Missouri-St. Louis, helping the Miners clinch the GLVC West Division title…had a complete-game, five-hitter in a win over Kentucky Wesleyan…threw six innings in GLVC Tournament and NCAA Midwest Regional games against Northern Kentucky, getting no-decisions in both cases despite allowing just one earned run in the two games combined…threw 68 2/3 innings on the season and struck out 33…allowed just 53 hits; average of 6.98 hits per nine innings ranked 66th in NCAA Division II…had only two outings among his 13 in which he allowed more hits than innings pitched…held opponents to a .215 batting average…ranked ninth in the GLVC with his 2.90 ERA.
2010: Finished with a 2-2 record in his first season as a Miner…made seven starts in the 12 games he appeared in and ended the year with a 7.32 earned run average…threw 35 2/3 innings on the season and recorded 12 strikeouts…picked up his wins against Northwest Missouri State and Maryville, the latter on a complete game six-hitter…fanned a season-high three hitters against Northwest and Ouachita Baptist.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was one of the top starters on Rolla High School’s baseball team over the last two seasons, earning honorable mention all-state honors following the 2009 campaign as Rolla reached the No. 2 spot in the Missouri Class 4 state rankings…posted an 8-2 record and 2.36 earned run average in 56 2/3 innings in 2009, striking out 79 hitters in that span.
PERSONAL: Son of Walter and Jeanne Bowe...majoring in civil and architectural engineering.
