Biography
Started all 15 games as a junior and was one of the team’s top defenders...recorded a shot in the Lady Miners 3-0 win over Illinois-Springfield on Sept. 13...was a first team ESPN the Magazine Academic-All District selection...started all 17 games as a sophomore at defender… she had the assist on Brooke Ryan’s game winner against Southern Indiana on Sept. 12…recorded her other assist against Maryville on Oct. 19. appeared in 18 games as a freshman at defender…did not play in 2006 as she was recovering from an injury…was a three-year starter at the high school level…was selected to the all-conference team twice, once to the first team and the other time to the second team....was named as her team's top defensive player on two occasions...earned second-team all-district honors in each of the last two years....played club soccer for the Futura Emeralds and has earned the National Soccer Achievement Academy national award for her play on the field and work in the classroom in each of the last two years.
PERSONAL: Daughter of John and Jane Kovarik...attended North Kansas City High School...majoring in computer science and mathematics.
