Biography
2010-11: Finished 12th in the 200-yard butterfly at the NCAA Championships with a time of 1:49.62...also competed in the distance freestyle and individual medley events during the season...had top marks of 9:44.85 in the 1,000-freestyle, 16:29.86 in the 1,650-free and 4:08.77 in the 400-IM...was third in the 200-butterfly, seventh in the 1,000-freestyle and eighth in the 400-IM at the NSISC meet.
2009-10: Competed at the NCAA Division II Championships and earned a 14th-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly...had top times during the season of 1:50.75 in the 200-butterfly and 52.14 seconds in the 100-butterfly.
2008-09: Earned a ninth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly at the national meet to land All-America honors…posted a time of 1:49.20 in the event…took fourth in the 200-fly at the NSISC meet and also placed 12th in the 1,000-freestyle in the NSISC meet…competed in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the national meet.
PERSONAL: Son of Bo and Susie Arve…was named as his team’s most valuable player on three occasions at the high school level…competed in the butterfly and distance freestyle…took sixth in the 200-yard individual medley at the 2008 North Carolina state meet after finishing 11th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:56.38 and 14th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.50 seconds in 2007…was also part of his team’s 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay teams that reached the finals at the state meet….majoring in environmental engineering.
