ROLLA, Mo.  --  Missouri S&T Football will host Southwest Baptist for the university's annual Hall of Fame/Celebration of Nations/Friends and Family Weekend game. Kickoff will be tomorrow at 6 p.m. in Allgood-Bailey Stadium, with halftime set to include recognition of the 2026 Class of Miner Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees and fireworks.
 
About the Miners
S&T dropped their Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) opener in Kirksville last week, falling to the Truman State Bulldogs 42-14. Despite the loss, the Miners showed promise on both sides of the ball. Eli Scott (Louisville, KY/Eastern) had a career night, throwing for 272 yards and a touchdown, while the defense won the turnover battle for the second time in the last three games, recording both an interception and a fumble recovery.

AJ Harris (Wentzville, MO/Lutheran-St. Charles) leads the GLVC in rushing touchdowns with 5 this season, which ranks him 14^th in NCAA Division II. He also ranks in the top 20 of Division II for total touchdowns and scoring average. Scott moved into the top ten in the GLVC for total offensive yards per game after his standout performance against Truman, now averaging 175.7 yards per game and ranking 9^th in the GLVC.
 
Logan Jacobson (Hillsboro, MO/St. Pius X) ranks second in the GLVC and 29^th in all of Division II for punting, averaging 42.6 yards per punt. Kaden Glass (San Antonio, TX/Pieper) has recorded 5 tackles for loss this season, averaging 1.67 per contest which ranks him 3^rd in the GLVC and 13^th in Division II. Glass also ranks 5^th in the conference for sacks per game, with .67. A trio of Miners sit in the top ten of the GLVC for pass defense, with Kam Richardson (Kirkwood, MO/Kirkwood), Cameron Sturgell (Lamar, MO/Lamar), and Christian Kemp (Madison, AL/Bob Jones) all averaging a pass break up per game. Jalen Hill (Mayo, FL/Lafayette) leads the conference in fumbles recovered and ranks second in Division II as well, scooping up two fumbles in the past three games.
 
About Southwest Baptist
The Bearcats are 1-3 this season and are coming off a 27-17 loss at home vs William Jewell. They struggled to contain the run game against Jewell, allowing 215 yards on the ground while the Cardinals' leading rusher went for 148 yards and a touchdown.

SBU has had three GLVC players of the year, including two special teams players of the year. They lead the conference in average points per game, averaging 38.3 this season. The team's 146 pass attempts are a conference high, with leading quarterback Jaron Saunders averaging 185.5 passing yards per game.

Maxwell Kates and Joel Beshore are two of three defenders in the league with two or more interceptions this season, contributing to the Bearcats' 10 takeaways this year. Kates also leads the league in total pass breakups with 6 so far. The Bearcats also boast two of the top five tacklers in the GLVC, with Ricky Woodhouse averaging 12.3 per game and Chucky Sutton averaging 9.3.
 
What's Next
The Miners start a two-week road stretch next Saturday, with trips to Upper Iowa on October 3^rd and to Indianapolis on October 10^th.
