SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Missouri S&T cross country opened the 2026 season with a team victory at the Queen City After Dark, as the Miners' men's team captured first place while the women's team also competed against a strong field Saturday night.

The Missouri S&T men finished first in the team standings with 38 points, finishing ahead of second-place Drury with 53 points and third-place Crowder with 102. The Miners placed three runners among the top 10 overall, led by Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) with a first-place finish. Landon Duchscherer (Morrisville, MO/Marion C. Early) followed in sixth, while Cole Reintjes (Wichita, KS/Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic) placed 10th.

Born's victory helped Missouri S&T establish the lead in the team race, while Duchscherer and Reintjes provided additional top-10 finishes to give the Miners a strong pack at the front of the field. Missouri S&T's other two scoring runners finished 11th and 12th overall.

On the women's side, Amanda Warren (Normal, IL/Normal Community West) led the Miners with a 21st-place finish. Aurora Amason (Centralia, IL/Centralia) followed in 30th, with Molly Hays (Blue Springs, MO/Blue Springs South) placing 38th and Kristen Ely (Houston, MO/Houston) finishing 46th. Anna Beutelmann (Clayton, MO/Clayton) rounded out Missouri S&T's top five in 80th place.

The Queen City After Dark marked the opening competition of the season for Missouri S&T, giving both squads their first opportunity to establish their packs and build momentum heading into the remainder of the 2026 campaign.
