ROLLA, Mo. – The Missouri S&T men's soccer team is set for a home match Friday, September 4, to host Upper Iowa University at 5:30 p.m. at Allgood-Bailey Stadium.
The Miners enter the week with a 2-0 record after opening the season with a 2-1 road victory over Northeastern State before earning a 5-0 win over Davenport in their home opener Saturday. S&T has scored seven goals through its first two games while allowing just one.
Mike Banasik (Hjoerring, Denmark/Hjoering Gymnasium) leads the Miners offensively, scoring three goals and taking seven shots in two games.
Caleb Lepant (Ozark, MO/Ozark), Ian Conner (Las Vegas, NV/Northwest Career & Technical Academy), Juliano Costa (Porto Alegre, Brazil/Marista Rosario), and Brendan Owens (St. Peters, MO/Fort Zumwalt South) have all added
one goal apiece.
Kellen Douglas (St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh) also had four shots against Davenport.
As a team, S&T has recorded
31 shots, including
17 shots on goal, through its first two contests.
Defensively,
Cavitt Bruhn (Plano, TX/Plano) started both games in goal and has recorded
six saves while allowing only one goal. The Miners have recorded
one shutout through the first two games of the season.
About Upper Iowa
Upper Iowa enters Friday's contest with a
0-0-2 overall record and a
0-0 record in conference play.
The Peacocks are led by
Timur Nagy, who has contributed
one goal and
two points this season.
Jannik Schlegel has also recorded
three shots.
In the 2025 slate, S&T and UIU tied one a piece. They each have won one game and lost one game against each other.
The Miners and Peacocks will meet Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Allgood-Bailey Stadium to open conference play.
S&T did have a game scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, against Kentucky Wesleyan; however, the match was postponed. More details concerning rescheduling will be available soon.
