ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T senior forward/midfielder Mike Banasik (Hjoerring, Denmark/Hjoering Gymnasium) has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday.
Banasik helped lead the Miners to a perfect 2-0 start to the 2026 season, contributing to S&T's victories over Northeastern State University and Davenport University.
Over the two matches, Banasik recorded three goals while registering seven shots, including six on goal.
Banasik played a key role in S&T's offensive success as the Miners scored seven goals across their opening two contests. The Miners opened the season with a 2-1 road victory over Northeastern State before returning home Saturday to defeat Davenport 5-0.
Banasik and the Miners will return to action at home Friday, Sept. 4, to host Upper Iowa University at 5:30 p.m. at Allgood-Bailey Stadium.
