ROLLA, Mo. – The Missouri S&T men's soccer team opens its season on the road in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to take on the Northeastern State University Riverhawks. They will return Saturday, August 29, to host Davenport University for Senior Day at 11 a.m.
S&T has several excellent returners this season. Midfielder
Joao Vieira (Punta del Este, Uruguay/International College) returns after contributing six goals and 14 points for the Miners. Vieira earned First Team All-GLVC honors, Second Team All-Midwest Region recognition, and was named 2025 Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Senior forward/mid
Mike Banasik (Hjoerring, Denmark/Hjoering Gymnasium) also makes his return to the Miners. Banasik was named Third Team All-America and earned CSC Academic All-District honors. Statistically, he scored four goals while adding two assists for ten points. Three of the goals Banasik scored were game-winning goals.
About Northeastern State
In the 2025 slate, Northeastern State went 8-8-3 overall and 5-6-1 in conference.
The Miners will be watching Junior Carter Adams. Adams started in 19 games for the Riverhawks, contributing ten goals and 23 points. He had 36 total shots, 25 of them being on goal.
In recent history, S&T beat Northeastern State 1-0 on September 5, 2024.
About Davenport
Davenport men's soccer team went 4-8-6 overall and 3-5-4 in conference last season.
In his rookie season, midfielder Charlie Davis contributed five goals and 16 points for the Panthers. He had 55 shots, 28 of them on goal. He will be returning for the Panthers this season.
DU will take on Drury University on Thursday, August 27, before heading to Missouri S&T on Saturday, August 29.
