ROLLA, Mo. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference released its 2026 men's cross country preseason poll, with Missouri S&T selected to finish second in the conference. The Miners enter the season with high expectations following a strong showing last season and will look to make their mark among the conference's top teams.

At the polls S&T received the other first-place vote and 105 total points. In the 2025 slate, the Miners placed third in 2025 GLVC Championship, tying program record. Additionally, they earned 15th place at NCAA DII Midwest Regional Championships.

Head coach Cameron Knudsen enters his third season at the helm.

Junior, Henry Born (Lake Quivira, KS/Shawnee Mission Northwest) is set to return. Last season Born placed fourth at the GLVC Cross Country Championships and was marked best by a Miner during the school's Great Lakes Conference era. Maddox Riley (Wentzville, MO/Timberland) also returns this season after an outstanding performance last year. Riley was named GLVC Freshman of the Year, the first ever attained by a Miner.
