RICHMOND, Ky. – Missouri S&T Golf, highlighted by a first place trophy for
Connor Benjamin (Nelson Bay, Australia/St. Philip's Christian College), won the Findlay Spring Invitational this week.
In an 18-team field, the Miners led the way with their fourth win of the 2024-25 season.
Connor Benjamin (Nelson Bay, Australia/St. Philip's Christian College) led S&T on day one after he shot a 68 in the first round. He had five birdies in the round, while
Cole Komyati (Elberta, AL/Bayside Academy) shot a 70 with his six birdies. In round two, Benjamin shot a 66, five strokes ahead of the next closest S&T player.
Isaac To (Petaling Jaya, Malaysia/Real International School) recorded 71 in round two.
Missouri S&T had a third round to remember as three players shot under 70. Benjamin shot a 64 with his nine birdies in the round. To shot a 66 and
Rizq Adam Rohizam () collected a 68.
In total, Missouri S&T recorded first place by four strokes. Benjmain won the individual side by 10 strokes. He shot -18 overall for S&T. To collected ninth place for the Miners. Rohizam and Komyati finished tied for 29
th.
The Miners have finished in the top three of every invitational this season. This win is their fourth first place trophy of the season and their second of the spring. They won the UIndy Fall Invitational, the Bill Crabtree Invitational and the Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff this season.
S&T also defeated three other ranked teams in this invite. #25 Missouri-St. Louis, #26 Wayne State and #46 Findlay all finished below the Miners. McKendree, Maryville and Drury were the other GLVC representatives with Missouri S&T and UMSL.
What's Next
The Miners have just two more regular season competitions left at the Ashland Spring Invitational from Mar. 29-31 and the Ken Partridge Invitational on Apr. 6-8. The GLVC Championships are scheduled for Apr. 20-22.
