JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri S&T men's soccer begins postseason play this weekend as the No. 7 seed in the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Tournament, traveling to face No. 2 seed Lincoln University on Sunday, Nov. 9, in Jefferson City, Mo., at Capital City High School. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.

About the Miners
The Miners (9-5-3, 7-5-2 GLVC) return to the GLVC postseason for the 13th time in program history and the first since 2022 after finishing seventh in the regular-season standings with 23 points. S&T closed the season strong, winning two of its final four matches, including a 1-0 home victory over William Jewell and a 2-1 result against Truman State.

The Miners have been led offensively by Joao Vieira (Punta del Este, Uruguay/International College), who has scored a team-best six goals, while Mike Banasik (Loekkegade, Denmark/Hjoering Gymnasium) has added four. Goalkeeper Cavitt Bruhn (Plano, TX/Plano) anchors the defense with a 1.00 goals-against average and six shutouts on the year.

About the Blue Tigers
Lincoln (10-0-6, 8-0-6 GLVC) enters the GLVC Tournament ranked No. 15 nationally and No. 2 in the Midwest Region after completing an unbeaten regular season that earned 30 points in league play. The Blue Tigers are making their first-ever appearance in the GLVC postseason in just their second year in the conference.

Earlier this season, Lincoln defeated Missouri S&T 3-1 on Sept. 14 in Jefferson City. The Blue Tigers have been powered by Kevon Maitland, who leads the team with seven goals and three assists, while Christopher Hull has added five goals. Vincent Osei anchors the back line with a 1.07 goals-against average.

Series History
Sunday's matchup marks the 13th all-time meeting between the two programs, with Missouri S&T leading the series 11-1. Lincoln holds the recent edge after the September win, while the Miners will look to avenge that result and advance to the GLVC semifinals for the first time since 2017.

What's Next
The winner of Sunday's quarterfinal will advance to the GLVC Championship Tournament Semifinals, which will be hosted at Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex in St. Louis, Mo. The two semifinal contests are scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 13, with the GLVC Championship Final set for Saturday, Nov. 15.
