Men’s Soccer Heads to Rockhurst and Southwest Baptist for Final Regular-Season Matches

Rolla, Mo. – Missouri S&T men's soccer will wrap up its 2025 regular season this weekend with a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference road matchups. The Miners will travel to Rockhurst on Friday, Oct. 31, at 7:30 p.m., before taking on Southwest Baptist on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2:30 p.m.

About the Miners
The Miners (9-3-3, 7-3-2 GLVC) enter the final weekend of the regular season coming off a dominant performance and key late-season wins at home to clinch them a spot in the GLVC tournament.

On Friday, S&T defeated Truman State 2-1 behind a brace from Joao Vieira (Punta del Este, Uruguay/International College), who scored in the 54th and 87th minutes, with GLVC Offensive Player of the Week Mike Banasik (Loekkegade, Denmark/Hjoering Gymnasium) adding an assist on the game-winner. Goalkeeper Cavitt Bruhn (Plano, TX/Plano) made six saves in the win as S&T outshot Truman 23-12.

Two days later, the Miners capped their home schedule with a 1-0 shutout over William Jewell. Banasik provided the lone goal in the 41st minute off a feed from Andrei Paley (Rogers, AR/Bentonville), while the S&T defense limited the Cardinals to just seven total shots and none on goal. Bruhn recorded his sixth shutout of the season in the win.

The Miners rank among the top three in the GLVC in shots (15.47 per game) and goals (26 total). Vieira leads S&T with six goals, while Banasik follows with four goals and two assists. Bruhn continues to anchor the Miners defensively, ranking among the league's best with a 1.00 goals-against average.

About the Hawks
Rockhurst (10-3-2, 9-1-2 GLVC) enters the weekend sitting near the top of the conference standings after splitting its final away regular-season contests. As of October 21, the Hawks rank No. 18 nationally and No. 2 in the Midwest Region in the United Soccer Coaches poll.

On Friday, the Hawks picked up a 1-0 road win at Southwest Baptist behind an early goal from Ozonna Ugbaja in the second minute. Goalkeeper Stefano Camerlengo made five saves to secure the clean sheet, while Rockhurst held the Bearcats to just five shots on goal.

Two days later, Rockhurst dropped a 1-0 decision at Drury, conceding the game-winner in the 70th minute despite controlling possession and outshooting the Panthers 13-6. Camerlengo finished the match with no saves as Drury converted its lone shot on goal.

About the Bearcats
Southwest Baptist (6-8-2, 3-7-2 GLVC) enters the weekend following a narrow 1-0 home loss to Rockhurst on Friday. The Bearcats generated several quality chances, outshooting the Hawks 12-7 and earning a 5-4 edge in corner kicks, but were unable to convert.

Goalkeeper Jan-Henry Schafer made two saves in the match, while Zinedine Cherik recorded multiple shots on target.
