Miners Host Truman State, William Jewell in Final Home Matches of Regular Season

Rolla, Mo. – Missouri S&T men's soccer returns to Allgood-Bailey Stadium this weekend for its final home matches of the regular season, continuing Great Lakes Valley Conference play against Truman State and William Jewell. The Miners will face the Bulldogs on Friday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m., before taking on the Cardinals on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 2:30 p.m.

About the Miners
The Miners (7-3-3, 5-3-2 GLVC) enter the weekend looking to build on a strong defensive stretch.

Sam Bresette (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit) provided the equalizer just one minute after the Peacocks took the lead in the 70th minute, scoring his first goal of the season. The Miners outshot UIU 9-6 and held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks, while goalkeeper Cavitt Bruhn (Plano, TX/Plano) made two saves.

Two days later, S&T defeated Quincy 1-0, with Bresette scoring his second goal of the year off a penalty kick.

S&T ranks among the GLVC's top teams in shot production, averaging 14.23 per game, and sits in the top seven in both goals and assists. Joao Vieira (Punta del Este, Uruguay/International College) leads the Miners with four goals, while Brendan Owens (St. Louis, MO/Fort Zumwalt South) and Mike Banasik (Loekkegade, Denmark/Hjoering Gymnasium) have each contributed three. Bruhn continues to anchor the back line with a 1.08 goals-against average and five shutouts.

About the Bulldogs
Truman State (3-7-2, 2-7-1 GLVC) enters the weekend looking to bounce back after dropping a pair of home contests. On Friday, the Bulldogs fell 3-0 to Southwest Baptist despite a 12-shot effort, including four on goal.

Two days later, Truman came up short 2-0 against Drury at Stokes Stadium. Owen Robben recorded 10 saves between the posts to keep the match close, while Jacob Panagos and Mason Willier each registered a shot on goal.

The Bulldogs have been led offensively by Panagos with four goals and two assists, while Robben ranks among the GLVC leaders in saves per game this season.

About the Cardinals
William Jewell (2-8-3, 1-6-3 GLVC) enters the weekend following a pair of road setbacks. On Friday, the Cardinals fell 4-1 at Rockhurst, with Alexis Ibarra scoring the lone goal off an assist from Zach Nichols in the 58th minute.

Two days later, Jewell dropped a 3-1 decision at Southwest Baptist despite taking eight total shots, including six on goal. Eliott Labeth found the back of the net in the 10th minute to give the Cardinals an early lead, while goalkeepers Aldo Bryant and Keegan Tully combined for five saves.
