SPRINGFIELD, MO  --  Missouri S&T Swimming is ready to begin a new season after a successful 2024-25 campaign that resulted in several broken school records and a second-place finish at Nationals for Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) in the 400-yard individual medley.

Bichsel is back for his senior season with the Miners and should be S&T's biggest contributor this season. Fellow seniors Jordan Christensen (Coralville, IA/Iowa West) and Marco Flores (San Pedro Sula, Honduras/SERAN Private Bilingual School) will be two other swimmers to watch this year, with both men earning All-America honors in previous seasons. Flores is making his return to the Great Lakes Valley Conference after a 5-year break, last competing in the 2019-20 season where he earned All-America in the 200-yard medley relay. Other returners to watch this year will be Adam Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe), Oscar Iden (Oslo, Norway/Oslo Private Gymnasium), Oskar Fridsell (Solna, Sweden/Solna Gymnasium), and Kevin Williams (Houston, TX/Westside).

The Miners will face one of their toughest tests of the season in their opener, competing against the Drury Panthers who have won the GLVC title a record seven times with their most recent championship coming last year.

The Miners will head to William Jewell next week for another matchup against a GLVC opponent.
