Four Women's Volleyball Players Earn CSC Academic All-District Awards

ROLLA, Mo. – Four Missouri S&T Women's Volleyball players were recognized on Wednesday with College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District awards.

Elise Mehaffy (Marion, IA/Marion), Isabelle Monaco (O'Fallon, MO/Living Word Christian), Madison Offerman (Herscher, IL/Herscher) and Madison Smith (Boonville, MO/Boonville) were all honored for S&T for their hard work in the classroom and on the court.

Mehaffy was second on the team in assists for the Miners with 434 and 4.34 assists per set. As a setter, she also tallied 182 digs, 68 kills, 47 blocks and 19 service aces. Mehaffy recorded four double-doubles for S&T this season and picked up a season-high 39 assists on Sept. 7 against Southeastern Oklahoma. She has been named to the GLVC All-Academic team every year she has been at S&T.

Monaco played in 23 matches for the Miners and was a leader on offense and defense. Her 224 kills were second on the team and her 3.59 digs per set led S&T. She picked up a season-high 27 digs on Oct. 25 and a season-best 21 kills on Sept. 27. Her nine double-doubles was second on the team. In 2023, Monaco was the winner of the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award as well as the GLVC All-Academic team.

Offerman collected 83 blocks in 27 matches played for the Miners this season. She finished her four-year career with 260 total blocks for sixth all-time. Her 50 solo blocks are fifth all-time in Miners history. Offerman was third on the team this season with 128 kills. She has been named to the GLVC All-Academic team every year including the Brother James Gaffney Distinguished Scholar award in 2021.

Smith, a sophomore transfer from South Dakota School of Mines, played in her first season for S&T in 2024. Smith led the Miners at the net with 115 blocks and 1.19 blocks per set. Her 20 solo blocks this season was ninth place in S&T history. Her 115 total blocks are eighth all-time in a season. Smith was named the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 9 after she recorded 20 blocks at the Reddie-Tiger Invitational.
