Fayette, Iowa  --  The Miners will conclude their 2024 season in Fayette, Iowa with a game against the Upper Iowa University Peacocks.

Series History
Missouri S&T and Upper Iowa have only played four times in their schools' history, with the Miners holding the head-to-head advantage three games to one. The Miners and Peacocks played each other twice last season, once in Rolla and once in Fayette, with the home team winning on both occasions. S&T has outscored UIU 125-69 in their four game history, with the Miners averaging 31.25 points per game.

About the Peacocks
Upper Iowa defeated McKendree 28-24 last week on a touchdown in the final minute of the game, making them 3-1 in their last four games. The Peacocks' 6-4 record and 5-2 conference record have them at second in the Great Lakes Valley Conferece this season. Their only conference losses came at home against Indianapolis and Truman State.

The Peacocks have relied heavily on their defense this season, a unit that is second in the conference in points allowed per game. Their offense has been able to do just enough this season to get them to 6-4, averaging 23.3 points per game and going 3-2 in games decided by a single possession.

Quarterback Darryl Overstreet Jr. has won offensive player of the week twice this season for the Peacocks, including last week for recording a trio of touchdowns that included the game winner with 21 seconds left in the game.

About the Miners
Missouri S&T lost to the 15th-ranked Indianapolis Greyhounds last week by a score of 55-10, falling behind early and never recovering enough to close the deficit against an Indy team that is undefeated in conference play.

The Miners offense continues to thrive, ranking second in the conference for points scored per game (31.8) and third in yards per game (367.7)

Tyler Gioia (Huntington Beach, CA/Edison) continues to have a successful season, ranking third in the conference for passing yards per game with 201.3 and 16 touchdowns. Gioia's top target, C.J. Wiggins continues to be ranked #2 in receiving for the GLVC, averaging 73.1 points per game and 8 touchdowns. Wiggins is joined in the top ten by Bryson Burns (Clarksville, TN/Rossview), who sits at 8th overall with 56.6 yards per game and 2 touchdowns.
