ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T Men's Soccer will make their final regular season road trip of the season at William Jewell and Truman State this weekend.
Match 1: Missouri S&T (7-4-3, 4-3-3 GLVC) at William Jewell (4-6-3, 2-6-2 GLVC) Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m.
The Cardinals have recorded two GLVC wins coming into this match with the Miners. In the GLVC standings, William Jewell sits in 13
th place out of 15 teams. This past weekend, they took down Southwest Baptist 1-0 but fell to Rockhurst 1-2. The other GLVC win they picked up was against Quincy when they won 4-1 on Oct. 4.
As a team this season, William Jewell ranks fourth in the GLVC in shots and third in shots on goal. With his five goals and one assist this season, Zach Nichols is third in the conference in shots, second in shots on goal and tied for second in goals scored. In their all-time matchup, the Miners lead 10-2-4 and 6-1-2 at William Jewell.
Match 2: Missouri S&T (7-4-3, 4-3-3 GLVC) at Truman State (4-5-3, 3-4-3 GLVC)
The Bulldogs also have four total wins this season and are in eighth place in the GLVC. They are coming off a 1-4 loss at Drury and 2-0 win at Southwest Baptist over the weekend. In their past four matches, they are 2-1-1. Their GLVC wins this season include a 3-2 win at Upper Iowa and a 1-0 win versus William Jewell, their only GLVC win at home this season.
Even though Truman State is in the bottom half in the GLVC in shots, they are fifth in saves per game at 4.17. Goalkeeper Justin Olwig is fourth in the GLVC in shutouts with four and fifth in saves per game at 3.75. Dating back to 1979, Truman State leads the all-time matchup 24-18-6. They also hold a 14-7-2 advantage in Kirksville, Missouri. The Miners ended their season last year with a 1-0 win against Truman State.

About the Miners
Missouri S&T sits at 7-4-3 overall with a 4-3-3 GLVC record this season. With a win this weekend, the Miners would double their win total last year of four. Looking at the GLVC standings, S&T is in sixth place, one point ahead of Quincy and one point behind Illinois Springfield. However, the Prairie Stars only have three matches left to S&T's four and the Miners hold a tiebreaker over UIS. Maryville sits ahead of UIS, five points in front of the Miners.
Leading the Miners is Banasik with three goals this season.
Luke Giesing (St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh) is the leader in points with seven as he has picked up two goals and three assists.
Mustafa Hasan (St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh) has 20 shots this season to lead the Miners. Goalkeeper
Cavitt Bruhn (Plano, TX/Plano) has started all 14 matches for S&T and has only allowed 12 goals with 41 saves. His .876 GAA and .774 save percentage are both fifth in the conference.
What's Next
The Miners will come back home next weekend for their final regular season homestand of 2024. They are set to face Southwest Baptist on Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Rockhurst on Nov. 3 at 2:30 p.m.
The Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament is slated for Nov. 10-17. If the Miners finish in the top four of the conference, they will host the opening match.
