ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's swimming team will be home for its final two meets before the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships, as it will host Quincy Wednesday evening and Truman State on Senior Day Saturday at the S&T Pool.
Wednesday's 6 p.m. meet with the Hawks was originally scheduled for Monday, but was moved due to travel concerns for Quincy in coming to Rolla. Thus, the Miners will compete in two dual meets in a four-day span as they will face Truman State at 1 p.m. Saturday.
S&T comes into the meet with four individuals that have made NCAA Division II provisional cuts in eight events.
Connor Bichsel (Lee's Summit, MO/Lee's Summit West) has reached provisional marks in three events, doing so in both individual medley races and 200-yard butterfly.
Noah Clancy (Alton, IL/Alton) has also made a provisional times in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-IM, as has
Oscar Iden (Oslo, Norway/Oslo Private Gymnasium) in the 100-yard butterfly and
Adam Wiedemeier (West Monroe, LA/West Monroe) in the 100- and 200-yard freestyle.
Bichsel has posted the third-fastest time in the GLVC this season in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 3:50.91, while also recording the fifth-fastest time in the GLVC this season in the 200-butterly and sixth-best in the 200-IM. Wiedemeier's time in the 100-freestyle is the fourth-fastest in the GLVC this season and his 200-free is the seventh-fastest in the league. Clancy's 100-breaststroke time is the fifth-best in the GLVC
Quincy has two provisional qualifiers in Wyatt Walsh, who has reached a mark in the 200-yard freestyle and both individual medley events and Borna Kisasondi, who has reached the necessary time in the 100-yard butterfly. Truman State has one provisional qualifier this season in AJ Kohler, who has a mark in the 200-freestyle.
