ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's men's soccer team will kick off the home portion of its Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule this weekend as it hosts matches with Southwest Baptist and Drury.

The Miners, 1-4-1 overall and 0-2 in the GLVC, will host Southwest Baptist on Hawaiian Night on Friday at 7:30 p.m., then host Drury Sunday in a 2:30 p.m. match.

S&T was shut out in both of its games last weekend to open its conference slate, falling 3-0 at Quincy and 4-0 at Illinois Springfield in a game where the Miners fell behind 1-0 in the opening minute of action and then allowed three goals in a span of two minutes midway through the second half.

Mike Banazik leads the Miners with two goals on the season, while Sigurd Semlitsch (Oslo, Norway/Stabekk Videregaaende Skole) has three assists to lead S&T in that department.  Four Miners have scored goals this season, as Santiago Cervantes (Collierville, TN/Collierville), Joao Vieira (Punta del Este, Uruguay/International College) and Derek Schlenker (Chandler, AZ/Hamilton) have also tallied goals for S&T.

Davis Joseph (Andover, KS/Andover Central) has played in 511 of a possible 540 minutes in goal and has a 2.29 goals against average on the year.  He has recorded 23 saves in his six outings.

ABOUT SOUTHWEST BAPTIST: The Bearcats enter Friday's match at 1-3-1 overall after dropping their first two GLVC contests last week, losing matchups against nationally-ranked Indianapolis and Lewis.  The Bearcats have scored six goals this season, four of them coming in a game against Southern Nazarene and are led in that department by Titouan Fraslin and Iker Lorenzo with two apiece.  Dawson Sozio and Lucas Breeding have split time in the nets this year, with Sozio owning a 2.10 goals against average.

ABOUT DRURY: The Panthers, who will take on 12th-ranked Maryville Friday in St. Louis, are still seeking their first victory of the campaign as they are 0-3-3 and 0-1-1 in GLVC play.  After playing to a scoreless tie with Lewis last Friday, Drury fell 3-1 Sunday to Indianapolis in Springfield.  The Panthers have scored just three goals on the season – Jude Rodwell has one of the three goals and has added an assist – while Camden Meyer has a 1.67 goals against average in the nets.
