ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T's men's soccer team wraps up its home and Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule in the upcoming Homecoming weekend on campus, as the Miners will play host to games on Friday against Upper Iowa and Sunday against Truman State.

The Miners are six points in back of Quincy and Rockhurst, who currently share the eighth and final playoff spot and are five behind their Friday opponent that is trying to reach the GLVC Tournament in its first season in the league.  Truman State, meanwhile, is looking to lock up its spot in the conference tournament and will have a date with Maryville on Friday prior to Sunday's matchup.

S&T dropped a 3-0 decision Sunday to 23rd-ranked Maryville and bring records of 3-9-3 overall and 2-7-2 in the GLVC (eight points) into Friday's match.  The Miners are led in scoring by freshman Mike Banasik (Loekkegade, Denmark/Hjoering Gymnasium) with five goals, a total that is tied for second in the GLVC, while Santiago Cervantes (Collierville, TN/Collierville) has scored twice and Sigurd Semlitsch (Oslo, Norway/Stabekk Videregaaende Skole) has a team-leading four assists.

Goalkeeper Davis Joseph (Andover, KS/Andover Central) has a 1.90 goals against average in 1,186 minutes and Cavitt Bruhn (Plano, TX/Plano), who played the second half on Sunday, has a 1.11 mark in 162 minutes of action.  The duo has combined for 48 saves this season.

The Miner seniors will also be honored Sunday following the women's game that will precede the men's contest.

ABOUT UPPER IOWA:  The Peacocks come into the final weekend of GLVC play at 7-6-2 overall and 4-6-1 in the GLVC for 13 points, as they are a point in back of Quincy and Rockhurst for the eighth and final playoff spot.  Upper Iowa picked up a 2-0 win over Indianapolis last weekend, but lost 3-2 on Sunday to Lewis.

Upper Iowa is the highest scoring team in the GLVC with 32 goals in 15 games, led by David Mateo Rodriguez and Frider Blunck with five goals apiece.  Thomas Walle and Preston Price have added four tallies, while Diego Adachi shares the league lead with eight assists.  JJ Gonzalez-Hayes and Archie Watts have split the goalkeeping duties and have a combined 1.73 goals against average and 64 saves in 1,350 minutes of action.
